It is surprising how things can be so different across one border. For example masks are are mandatory on trains in Germany, but right when we crossed into the Netherlands, the conductor made it clear that was no longer needed.
Amsterdam was a super cool experience. I started by walking around the town and checking into the Flying Pig hostel. This hostel was super cool and everyone was really friendly. I went to the Rijksmuseum to see all of the art and history collected there.
I also checked out the Anne Frank house and it was super humbling to be in the house and read/listen about the Frank's tribulations. It was definitely alot bigger than I had imagined.
Lastly, by recommendation of one of the hostel staff, I checked out the STRAAT musuem. I would have to say that this was my favorite one for sure. While it was far from the city center, it was so cool to see the street art. I heard someone say "The outside of the building is a tryout for the inside" and I definitely felt that.
I went to Delft where I learned how to ride bikes "The Dutch Way". It was interesting to see the technical college and learn about Delft Blue. I also tried bouldering (basically rock climbing without a harness) and my body was sore for two days in areas that have never been sore 😂.
My last stop in The Netherlands was Gouda. I had to do the Gouda cheese experience and became a Gouda Cheese Master lol. I really enjoyed learning the ways of cheese (it ain't easy), old/aged Gouda is still my favorite.
Sounds like a gouda time lol...I'm sorry.
